Love In The City of Light – A mini-collection
with paintings by Liudmila Kondakova
When Destiny Delights
And so it happens,
an innocent glance.
Naturally a smile,
remarkable rapport.
Should I dare believe
that you’re the one,
my heart has waited for,
now destined to adore.
Come, dream with me tonight,
let destiny delight.
With every kiss, we pray,
true love will find it’s way.
A Most Romantic Interlude
Patiently we waited for that
perfect place in time,
if spontaneous or planned,
we knew it would be sublime.
Not wanting any of the passion
and pure rapture to subside,
only trusting that our love
would unequivocally preside.
In sync with the gentle rhythm
heart to heart as we embrace,
my mind delights as you tantalize
in your delicate soft lace.
Enamored with your silken skin
and warm sweet sighs
it’s you I desire most tonight,
as you melt into my eyes.
Nape Escape
Your silky skin excites
bare fragrant neck invites
my desirous heart aspires
encouraged by your smile.
My eager lips agree
to kiss you endlessly
forever grateful we celebrate
our love wholeheartedly.
A note from Chris
Born in Russia in 1956, Liudmila Kondakova immigrated to the United States in 1991. A graduate of the Grabar Center in Moscow, she also attended Russia’s School of Sacred Arts, the Moscow Pedagogical Institute and the Moscow Art Institute. Kondakova connects her highly trained background to her artistic expression this way: “In my art, the essence and beauty has always rested in the details.”
One might describe her style as Romantic Realism—her meticulous attention to detail allows us to become intimately involved in the life of her paintings. In the artist’s words: “To me, these streets, with their worn cobblestones and aged buildings, evoke a sense of nostalgia and romance with a touch of melancholy. It is the ideal kind of space.”
