Your Light Shines Bright
Incredibly natural in your element,
precise and with such flair.
Endless joy is always evident,
after years of training
with so much care.
Every sense in me takes notice,
your smiling face constantly aglow.
How radiant your form,
you just don’t realize,
you must not know.
My mind eternally fascinated,
as you dance across the floor.
My eyes helplessly transfixed,
as you melt me to my core.
Any spotlight completely pointless,
any stage would be child’s play,
your spirit burning brightly
bids my heart to always stay.
Our Summer Serenade
Moonlit night, holding hands, tart lemonade.
Dancing girl, makes me smile, slow promenade.
Summer sparks, lips meet mine, so unafraid.
Hold you close, nuzzle neck, scent’s serenade.
Shooting stars, backseat smooch, a killdeer cries.
Firefly fun, chigger bites, ketchup some fries.
Sharing dreams, compliments, she thinks I’m wise.
Snow cone tongues, belly laughs, no big surprise.
Getting late, no one cares, good vibrations.
Enticing eyes, same old couch, excitations.
Goodnight kiss, our song plays, new sensations.
In our hearts, forever, sweet elations.
Painting You With Words
You never seem to mind when
I splatter you with flattery,
or cover you in a kaleidoscope
of complimentary colors.
You’re the most pleasing palette,
perfectly posed without complaint,
commanding focus and concentration
with no concern for my constraint.
I love to trace your figure
with a deliberate artistic touch,
committing you to memory,
so well versed in every line.
Contemplating every contour,
carefully studying such splendid symmetry,
then composing heartfelt sentiments
in fanciful inventive imagery.
By any definition you’re beyond
most logic and description,
by design I live to paint you
with expressive imagination.
To portray your essential essence
requires no explicit shade or hue,
just colorful strokes of genius brushed
from my admiring point of view.
