Those Eyes

 

 

I loved you from that very first glance.

Your innocent smile

gleaming my way,

those heavenly eyes

my splendid surprise.

 

I dreamed of you,

and waited patiently.

My precious prize, those eyes,

that forever faithfully fascinate 

and inspire my heart to celebrate.

 

Those spirited playful eyes

cheer on our hopeful expectations.

With every tender embrace

your radiant eyes delight

as we eagerly kiss in moon’s light.

 

 

 

   We Know Exactly

 

It wasn’t that long ago, and surely at the time,

it wasn’t exactly what we had in mind.

That we would gradually lose each other’s grasp,

leaving wide-eyed infatuations behind.

 

For a while I questioned

what there could ever be,

as you danced your life

light years away from me.

 

We know exactly from our heart’s emotions

about impetuous and ardent love so pure.

About our deepest dreams, some secret notions,

and enchantments that still endure.

 

I know exactly when you smile at me,

that you know exactly just what you do.

You know you melt my heart when we kiss tenderly,

I know I make you happy with my point of view.

 

We know exactly and we don’t pretend,

that we don’t know it’s true.

Because you feel it when you’re close to me,

and I see it when I look at you.

 

 

HeartSpeak

 

Did you know that

your heart speaks words

known only to me?

 

Enticing phrases formed

that excite and enrapture

intended just for me.

 

Each delicious syllable

declared and delivered

lovingly to me.

 

Every imaginable translation

faithfully interpreted

perfectly by me.

 

 

A note from Chris

I hope you enjoy this mini-collection of my original poems from the archives.  I believe that this particular trilogy tells a story of  a “true love”  that lasts for more than just for a while.  Patient love and devotion through so many years is not always attainable.  But when it is in our reach or a part of our everyday real world existence, then it must be held on to at any cost.
