You Melt Me
Beautifully brilliant
are the enchanted beams of light
that stream from your precious
spirited eyes this night.
Pleasing and fondly familiar,
we direct our friendly fire,
to where passionate hearts greet
again to reveal even more desire.
When I see your face I know
my love’s tempting lips are near,
professing it crystal clear that
love that is true will persevere.
Your lips that love to sip and savor,
flavor my every sense each day,
holding you close as we celebrate
our almost innocent play.
And when you smile you know
that you melt my heart,
just exactly like that day
we remember from the very start.
My pledge that I make today,
is to propose my love anew,
to promise once again to
faithfully cherish and shelter you.
A note from Chris
If you are a music fan, you will most likely figure out which tune helped
inspire my original poem “You Melt Me”. There are two references in
the poem to the lyrics of one of my most favorite songs. The photos that
I chose to pair with the poem might give you a clue as well.
If you need more help with identifying the song you can scroll down
below the social media version of “You Melt Me” and watch
the official music video from 2010.
