A Most Romantic Interlude
Patiently we waited for that
perfect place in time,
if spontaneous or planned,
we knew it would be sublime.
Not wanting any of the passion
and pure rapture to subside,
only trusting that our love
would unequivocally preside.
In sync with the gentle rhythm
heart to heart as we embrace,
my mind delights as you tantalize
in your delicate soft lace.
Enamored with your silken skin
and warm sweet sighs
it’s you I desire most tonight,
as you melt into my eyes.
A note from Chris
I would think those “perfect place and time” moments between two people in love would, by default, be their most memorable and cherished moments! The beauty of this photo of the Aurora Boreallis from Bear Lake, Alaska is also unbelievably beautiful. It would be quite memorable if we were able to observe this same phenomenon in person don’t you think? I hope there is some correlation of beauty and grace in my pairing for this post. Please leave a comment and tell me what you think. The photo is used with my grateful regards under Creative Commons licensing from Beverly & Pack’s Flickr photostream.

Very romantic, with joyful anticipation. Enjoyed reading your poem. 🙂
Ah romance! It’s one of the most inspirational of emotional circumstances, and you can certainly feel that inspiration strongly here.
A lovely poem about love anticipated and received at just the perfect moment.
yep burned on the retinas…those first looks, glances and def special moments…though i imagine some are not as big as one might think…
The beauty of this poem pairs very nicely with the photo. “Patiently we waited for the perfect place and time”!
Thank you for another wonderful vision painted with your words.
